What is HD?

It's quite often we hear about the word "HD", it's actually the abbreviation for High Definition, 高清in Chinese. HD is a technology that provides picture quality similar to 35mm movies with sound quality similar to today's CD. HDTV (Hi-Def Television) has already available in countries like US, UK, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea that provides good quality in both audio and visual. It's like watching high quality DVD through terrestrial TV channels. I wish Malaysia would have one in the coming future.

This is the difference of image quality between HD and without HD. 

HD gives sharper image.

In spite of those home appliances like TV, there's also a lot of products that claim themselves having HD effects. Recently, I saw a Taiwan contact lens advertisement that claims themselves providing HD effects. Oh my god, it's too much, it became a trend of giving the "HD"on it, seemed overusing the name.

Technology of TV has also lifted from traditional huge-box CRT TV to light-weighted LCD TV. Most remarkable difference between both TVs is the audio and visual quality provided, Full HD LCD TV provides ultra-high definition 1080 lines of vertical resolution, another name for Full HD is 1080p , letter "p" stands for progressive scan, which means the image is not interlaced. 1080p gives the equivalent quality of Blu-ray disc. With that, we can enjoy the vividness of movie like you can touch and feel it lively.

Thank god, it's Friday!

I've never been so excited about the coming of weekends, it feels like when I was in primary and high school days, Friday means everything to me because it's a kicking off of weekends. Now I can feel the excitement is coming up to me again, it's like the very first Saturday and Sunday I've ever had, so precious. Breaking all the confusion, I'm currently doing my interns in Double Vision, a production house. It's so understandable to know why do I love weekends, it's my off days.

Scriptwriting was what I "suffered" for these few days, I wish I won't have to continue the work next week. It's just not my thing. Duh, this is how people say "you ain't love what you're doing now but missing then". I wish I'm going to miss this moment, but not the tiredness.

Enjoy what I'm doing, my everything.

How fast could your internet speed possibly be?

I'm so frustrated about the internet speed right now. Okay, I must admit that I've already consumed all of the threshold limits which is 20GB that makes the speed down to 20%-30% of 1.2Mbps but now I'm the only person using the line now, what the heck is the sharing networks in my area that have been mentioning by the internet server? I'm totally lost and I couldn't stand this for long, I'm going to find another broadband server for sure. Look at the average broaband speed in Japan, it's freakin' averagely 63Mbps. Did you see what I just mention? It's 63Mbps!! Even your PC can only receive the maximum of 54Mbps of it. 

Let me tell you how fast 63Mbps could be. All these calculation may not follow the formulation, it's merely my simple assumptions. Pick my broadband as lead example.

I'm currenly having 1.2Mbps broadband speed, the fastest effort I could ever get was like 150-170kbps. Downloading a 100MB software is like spending 20 minutes of your life. So let's see how long do I have to spend if I download the same thing in Japan.

1.2Mbps = approx. 170kbps (best effort speed)

63Mbps = approx. 50 x 1.2

so, 170 x 50 = 8500 kbps

8500 kbps means what? 

You can download your 8.5MB song in one second.

You only spend 12 seconds of your life to download a 100MB software.

You only spend the length of one song to download a full-length, HD movie, that could possibly be 2GB.

Amazing huh?

 

Unfortunately, not in Malaysia.

American Idol Finale

American Idol!!!!!! This is probably the most predictable season ever, or should I say this is probably the most boring-to-me finale, all my faves are out. Apparently, the 2009 American Idol Season 8 winner goes to... Adam Lambert.

This is for sure based on both fan base and his voice.

Like fart releasing from your asshole

I guess the title is creative and funny enough to catch your eyes and deceive you to have a look here. Nothing special but my great day. This is the day I've been waiting for so long, super exciting. Just done my final exam, I feel so great, thinking of what to do next for a whole day. Singing karaoke was what I first think of right after I got out from the exam hall,  so I just went for it and satisfied with 6 hours long.

Words couldn't completely describe how happy am I right now. I'm so super freeeeeeeeeeee and horrendously happyyyyyyyyyyy. The previous hardwork paid this off!

What am I going to do next? 

A few sreaming movies or another drama series, I think.

Gosh, another pathetic week. Kris Allen is yet to be out at this point. Allison was incredible this week, but poor American made this happen.

Fave Songwriters

In spite of the vocalist himself/herself, people behind the song are well mentioned in the music industry: songwriter, executive producer. Sometimes I would find all of my favorite songs are actually written by a single songwriter, which could terrify me. Nothing's so coincident but the songwriters' music. That's the niche of the songwriter that could possibly name the songwriter by listening the song itself. That's really astounding to have a self's direction or trademark in music.

Linda Perry

Linda Perry is probably one of the best pop songwriters in the States. Her music has a particular element to let people recognize "Oh, that's Perry's music." Not forgetting to mention she has regular association act with Christina Aguilera. She also wrote to James Blunt, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Alicia Keys and much more.

David Foster

David Foster is a multiple Grammy awards Canadian songwriter, he has all the big ballads in his hands. Songs like I Have Nothing, The Prayer and much more. He's also well known as a music producer.

Diane Warren

When talking about big ballads, make sure not to leave Diane Warren's music. Her music is amazing. You might be shocked to see her songs are all big hits of all time like Because You Loved Me, Un-break my heart, I Don't Want To Miss A Thing, How Do I Live, I Turn To You and much more.

Guy Chambers

An English songwriter best known for his partnership with Robbie Williams. He has 34 Gold/Platinum awarded albums in both UK and US. He has also associated with my fave Delta Goodrem, Together We Are One, Out Of The Blue, Believe Again are his masterpiece.

Kara DioGuardi

You guys may only know she is the new judge of the new season of American Idol, but do you know that she's actually songwriter and co-producer? I knew her long before American Idol, she's best known association with all the idols like Kelly Clarkson, Diana DeGarmo, Carrie Underwood, David Archuleta. She has some #1 hits by Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion, Britney Spears too. Most importantly, she's a pretty songwriter.

Chan Fai Yong （陈辉阳）

He's probably the one and only songwriter in Canton-pop that I like. He has a typical Chan's style of writing song, using similar musical instrument in all his music. His masterpiece can be seen from Eason Chan, Joey Yung, Miriam Yeung and much more.

American Idol 8

Matt Giraud is out. Gosh! He's one of my favorites. I was like so sad to know he's out. But I don't know why, I just think if Matt G. wasn't the one who's going home this week, he'll also do next week. I bet the top 3 in this season would be Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Allison Iraheta. Kris Allen is no way getting into top 3, he's like Jason Castro in the last season, he got into top 4 is all because of his fanbase. Now my only hope, Danny Gokey is going to beat Adam Lambert with a huge fanbase, I'm so glad to know that Danny G. has never been into bottoms, yay! According to the previous seasons, the one who's never been into bottoms has the most possibility of winning the show. He's the only hope to be the winner.

Movie day

Having final test in the moment, for me it's kinda pretty relax, maybe I'm getting used to it or, fed up of it. I'm still able to catch my free time watching some of the old movies, "Twister", "The Day After Tomorrow" and "The Brideswar", and I'm totally in love with those disaster movies, hoping there would be another "The Day After Tomorrow". I'm like starting to love movie (which I should have loved for so long, I'm taking Broadcasting.. duh!). Can't wait June for the big movie, Transformer II. I still remember how was the feeling when I watched the first one, it totally blew my mind, one of the greatest movies I've ever watched.
