Delta Goodrem

Feel so great yesterday way heading to Uni library, I gotta watch "Run" by Leona Lewis and "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson music video in RapidKL bus Narrowcasting TV. Never expect I could ever see my favorite music video in the bus, the song is quite new, too. Feel so grateful.

Been listening to Delta Goodrem's album these few days, I missed a lot of good tracks, apparently. I listen the albums all over again, download the whole discography of Delta. Omg, she's so talented Aussie singer, totally adore her piano pop. It is now getting harder and harder to find yourself an album that you can really play with your CD player from the first track until the last one, without skipping a single song. But Delta's album has some kind of strength to make your ears wide open.

Here to recommend some of the tracks.

Debut album, Innocent Eyes. Tracks recommended: Whole album is recommended.

Second album, Mistaken Identity. All about her story of curing from cancer. Tracks recommeded: Be Strong, Fragile, Last Night On Earth, Out Of The Blue, Sanctuary, You Are My Rock.

Third and the latest album, self-titled, Delta. Tracks recommended: Believe Again, In This Life, One Day, Woman, I Can't Break It To My Heart, You Will Only Break My Heart.

Live Life to the Fullest

I just took a quiz on facebook to figure out "which is the theme song of my life?" The result is "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, what a sweet song. I used to sing this on last Christmas Eve.

I found the description is accurate in certain senses, the I-Live-Life-To-The-Fullest-And-I-Am-Happy type, I live my each day like its my last, always wanted to experience everything before I get regretted. My life is a book, duh! Rulebreaker yes, especially to make myself happier. Love it, make it, work it, and shape it, I make it what I want... kinda right, LOL!

Sometimes I'm like doing things with my feelings. My mom said I am a fruit of happiness in my family, when you bite it, you feel it, always kinda happy and letting go, those kinda happy-go-lucky for everything no matter how tough the situation is. I'm happy that my mom is proud of my way of facing the world. Quite honestly, I hate my friends being emo, and I look down on those emo-prone people. What's the matter driving you sick for a long time of period? What's really upset you if they're not your family or your friends surrounding you who always give you support and stand by your side? What really matters when you know there are bunch of people loving you? Am I extraordinarily way too optimistic? Not really, because this is the way everyone should live, live life to the fullest.

And here to promise myself living my life to the fullest.

Over The Rainbow

This is the 100th post. Yay!!

Sigh..Nothing to feel special actually, only wish there would be another 100th or 1000th post or so forth, write whatever I think it's right, write whatever I love like the very first time.
Here to introduce, or should I say remind you a beautiful song, "Over The Rainbow", there are certain renditions of the song, I personally love Eva Cassidy's the most. From the beginning till the end, I feel like melting.

A beautiful "Over The Rainbow" is dedicated to my 100th post.

"Where troubles melt like lemon drops..."

Share of Great Music

Part 1
These are the songs that I always think melodically(arrangement of music) good and highly recommended in my songbook,

1. Ordinary World by Katharine McPhee
- You can hardly dislike this song, the arrangement is so dramatic. I love the drums, and I love the cello part till dead, just let yourself emphasizing on the cello part, it's just so great with the song. The cello is even greater after the bridge part.

2. Finally by Fergie
- Undoubtedly, with the collaboration with John Legend, you can easily be moved by the piano itself, it's even more sensational with the cello. A good storytelling song.

3. Where Is Your Heart by Kelly Clarkson
- This was probably the song that made me through those SPM days back in 2005. Again, most impressive is the cello part, the greatest of all, and gosh the violin, too. Too beautiful to describe.

4. Believe Again by Delta Goodrem
- With its very beginning violin intro, I feel it's like a fairy tale intro. But then the addition of the beat takes it all to a powerful song. Violin plays the main role in the song. After the 3:40", the choir "I believe in the impossible, it's possible to overcome.." brings me goosebumps.

Part 2
These are the songs that I always think the vocal is awesome and highly recommended in my songbook,

1. It's A Man's World (Live in Grammy)by Christina Aguilera
- This song was live in Grammy Awards performance and not offically released in the album, it's a tribute pay to funky music legend, James Brown. The vocal performance is awesome, Christina Aguilera was like outsung everyone else out there in the Grammy that night, being placed in the 3rd of the greatest moment in Grammy, just behind Celine Dion performing "My Heart Will Go On" in years ago.

2. I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston
- Forget about one of the hardest songs in pop music, "I Will Always Love You", I think this is another hardest song to sing. Only big voice can carry this, that's why Whitney "The Voice" come from! This song is so breath-consuming, soaring big notes at most of the time in the chorus. Not many cover version done well, but Leona Lewis covered it perfectly in The X Factor.

3. How Far by Martina McBride
- This song was born for big voice. The sudden octave jumping of the chorus is crazy, "how FAR...", the arrangement in the bridge is great, too. Who says vocal performance of country music doesn't breathtaking? This song takes it all.

4. Can't Take That Away by Mariah Carey
- This is the song I can hardly sing. The combination of high notes and complicated runs means what? Means crazy! The lyric is also inspirational.

5. Run by Leona Lewis
- Leona is probably one of the greatest singer in the world. "Run" is originally by Snow Patrol. This song shows Leona's lower register at first, then lots of melisma detailly penetrating every single word of the chorus, and the last chorus with the choir is so goosebumpy, Leona's vocal nailed the whole song. A great cover.

A hectic night

Last night was a hectic day. Mike and I had so much fun having some singing at UTAR Sg. Long. The committee is so friendly and warm, it did reminds me about Talent Night last year, it's more than just an event. I feel like we have treated with such a great privilege, Mike and I just had some talking with the other performers and the helpers, they're so great in person. We also got to meet old friends like Joyce, Aixia and Jensen. The show started a little bit later, just a little bit, but it ended earlier than what we have expected. Though there were some microphone issues, as always, I think this was another event that I can hardly forget. And gosh, we had mad until 1am last night having supper afterwards, I mean 40 people altogether "yam cha" and had socializing was the best part. Thanks to Mike, for always being a great guitarist. Thanks to the committee for having me there, I made a lot of nice friends, great singers and great dancers.

(From left to right) Me, Joyce and Mike.

I met Kean Chye's old friend that night, too, named George. Kean Chye, if you're reading this, please give him a text or call, he's like years ago never met you up.

That's all for the show, it's like raining outside now, wind peacefully breezing my room, I feel so good.

Butterfly in the stomach

This morning started off a little great, great weather, great people to meet with, great event to be going on.. One thing that I always feel bad is after so many onstage singing performances and competition I have been through for so long, there is still a little butterfly flying over my stomach. I can feel my palm and feet sweating, which is really awful! But I truly know nervousness is an essential because you really care of something, I have to keep reminding myself of this is the moment I've been waiting for, this is my strongest part out of nothing, why shouldn't I terminate my psychological barrier, letting everything goes other than enjoying the moment.

Be strong, yay!

Memories of Sarawak

Okay, now. Here's the time I can actually post some of the pictures which I think interesting on my Kuching trip (poor me, can only upload these after a week!).

(Not in order)
This is actually Sarawak River, a sampan was there, too beautiful to describe.

Another sampan (upper). Oh god! look at the sky, so beautiful (bottom).

Fishball in Sarawak is damn tiny. Look at the contrast with a small lime, even smaller. (This is Kolok Mee, very famous in Sarawak, actually same as our Wan Tan Mee)

You see my playable mom imitating the Celcom banner behind. (Not look alike lor, mom)

Omg, this kinda grocery store can still be found in Sarawak.

The legendary of butter in Sarawak. Butter is sold like this in the grocery store. I was like "WHAT?!" when I saw this, honestly.

The Indian Mosque lies in the Indian Street, where that old grocery store located.

Way back to KL, it's about to rain. Crashing those clouds made me having some fun in the flight.

How should I read this? From left to right? or right to left. I then figured out it's actually “郑合合发公司”, otherwise there are some characters lost in between but it doesn't make sense.

"Climb every mountain..."

Flower in Kuching airport?! What's the big deal? Heard my dad say this is the flower of "Iron plant"(direct translated from 铁树), it's rare to see its flower. We got to see, it's our luck.

This is a saloon. Yeah, you hear me right, this is a chinese saloon. I was like "So unbelievable!", this kinda saloon still exist in Malaysia. Go Sarawak for history.

Another word conflict, there are a lot of possibilities. 车餐快馆餐?快餐车餐馆?or 快餐餐馆车?Haha! Of course it is 快餐车餐馆.

The one and only Cat Musuem on earth, it's in Kuching.

Look at the road sign, I can see chinese word. Rare or impossible to see in West Malaysia.

You can hardly see car plate which starts with "Q" in West Malaysia. That's why I took this picture.

Kuching City.

A small island outlook from airplane.

A failed capture of birds flying, okay. I must admit that this is snapped with my only 3.2 MP cellphone. I deserve this.

What a sunset.

I thought my lunch would be like this (upper), who knows this was what I get (bottom). (Three lines on my head)

On my first flight.

Reflection is awesome.

Travelling Sarawak was such a great experience, people in Sarawak have slower pace than we have here, everything done not in hurry. No horn in the road means peace of mind. Sun rises and sets a little bit earlier than West Malaysia. If you get bored with your flooded shopping experience and the noisy city, come Sarawak to wash away all the tenses. You're gonna miss their life.

How great thou Sunday

It's been quite some time since last written, so this is the intention for a short post. My last 2 weeks was super busy catching up deadlines, before it's "dead", fortunately I'm not the one who's dead before it does, neither after. Thank god I'm still fine here. I didn't even get my time to post a few interesting pictures in here with my Kuching trip on last weekend, poor me! Other than rehearsal on Wednesday in Sg Long and the musical night on Thursday, this coming one week would be fine, but the week after next would be my very last critical week to work with all the deadlines again. Hope it'll still be a fine me writing some words here after 2 weeks. Way to go..
